Starting off the new, and improved blog with a post from a photo shoot from a few months ago…
I received a phone call out of the blue from a girl I used to work with several years ago. She wanted to inquire about a newborn session for her son – Jaden. I hadn’t spoke to her, or her husband in several years, and was surprised to hear that they had a baby. I was even more surprised to find out that he was 3 months premature. Mom really wanted to have newborn shots done while they were still in the hospital. So after discussing the special aspects of shooting in the NICU, including making sure that the “right” nurses were working, we settled on a date and time.
So I traveled to St. Mary’s Hospital in downtown Grand Rapids, and met Jaden for the first time. He was born September 6, 2008m and weighed in at 3 pounds 2.5 ounces! Although I was a little aprehensive about working with such a premie, the shoot went off without a hitch. Jaden behaved wonderfully, no crying, or hollering!
Come to think of it, he was one of the best behaved kids I have photographed!
I’ll let the photos speak for themself….

Thanks for looking, and feel free to leave a comment!
These are so great…this is an awesome thing for these parents to have! I love that last one, with the team logos on the incubator.
